Digital Art

About

Here you can find some of my digital works. All were created on the Procreate app for iPad, unless otherwise stated!

Annie

This is an illustration I drew of a game character called Annie. I think it's from around August/September 2023. It's lacking contrast so it's pretty muddy but I still think its pretty. I would just make the shadows darker.

Process

  • I sketched out the rough shape of the figure.
  • Then I went in and blocked large sections of colors. I did not spend a lot of time making it neat, as it was just going to serve as guidelines, essentially. Then I started refining those blobs of color and add details.
  • Emma & Tracy Squirrel

This is another digital piece I drew. This is a game character called Emma holding a little squirrel called Tracy.(That's the tiny picture)

    Process

  • I sketched out the drawing in full. I didn't do clean lineart because I find it very unenjoyable. So instead, I just cleaned up the messy sketch a bit and used that as my lineart.
  • I then did the coloring. I tend to do shading at the same time as coloring. And then after that I go in with highlights and final details.

  • Cheerleader

This is a drawing of a game character as well. Her name is Lily and she is a cheerleader! I drew this dedicated to my friend.

    Process

  • I finished this piece using the same technique and process as the Emma and Tracy drawing, except it's a bit neater. The lines are not as messy and I made them less visible and blended the colors into them.
  • Joseph

This is yet another drawing of a game character, which was also dedicated to my friend.

    Process

  • I sketched this out and then cleaned up the sketch to use as the lineart.
  • Then I did the coloring and shading.
  • Then I added some items in the background such as falling photos and envelopes.

  • Mary

This is one of my favorite drawings still! It is a game character called Mary. Again, I think it is lacking contrast, especially with the character and the background. Next time I'd make the character brighter and the background darker (or the other way around) so that the character will stick out more.

    Process

  • I sketched using my usual process/technique.
  • This was the first time I started coloring a drawing with a grey background (I changed it because the white hurts my eyes) so the colors came out a lot different than I usually use, but it was generally the same process I normally use.
  • I added some refining details on a top layer, drawing over the lineart and making the piece look more finished.
  • Still Not Bitten

This is Clementine from the Walking Dead video game. I redrew an iconic scene of hers in my own style! This piece is a bit older, I drew it only a few months after I got my iPad! I was still learning techniques for digital art and trying to find my style again, but even so, I really like this piece!

    Process

  • I sketched using a regular graphite pencil, did lineart with a basic black gel pen, then used colored pencils to color the entire piece.
  • I sketched, outlined, and colored the little symbols on paper and cut them out, then glued them around the piece.

  • Let's take a peek into my sketchbook!
